Rustenburgo. Asamoah Gyan, autor del gol que metió hoy a su país, Ghana, en los cuartos de final del Mundial de Sudáfrica enloqueció de alegría tras el paso dado por su selección.

"Soy el hombre más feliz del mundo. Le doy gracias a Dios por esto. Hemos hecho que África se sienta orgullosa", dijo Gyan, que en el minuto 93, ya en la prórroga, anotó el tanto del triunfo de Ghana por 2-1 ante Estados Unidos.

El centrocampista del equipo africano Andre Ayew fue elegido mejor jugador del partido. Dio la asistencia de gol a Gyan, pero en el minuto 90 vio una tarjeta amarilla, por lo que se perderá el choque de cuartos ante Uruguay.

Ghana emula a Camerún en Italia '90 y a Senegal en Corea/Japón 2002, los dos únicos equipos africanos hasta hoy que habían llegado a los cuartos de un Mundial.
